plumber great but never showed up same day as promised was not free

ad says free estimates but first words out of tech was 190 or so dollars to tell me what was the problem. I already knew that hot water tank was destroyed by lighten strike. Ad says same day or labor is free. Waited 71/2 hours then I called to find out next day. Three hours work labor was$500 per hour.
