FIREPLACE DIAGNOSTIC: The flue cap/ spark arrester is kick and appears to be falling off. I came up and found that the cap assembly is totally fine but the issue is that the actual flue pipe is round and the cap assembly is made for square flues. I was able to retighten the cap into place and as well put some sealant on it to attempt to keep it in place. Due to the assembly being for square chimneys not round, we are not able to guarantee our work for today as well as it would depend on snow loads. If the issue is to occur again I would suggest getting a roofing company involved to get the proper cap assembly for the chimney.
Upon further investigation I found the Lennox brand mini splits unable to handle heating demand necessary for Lake Tahoe climate. So only Mitsubishi brand mini Split was quoted

I informed customer that fan is very basic and made a motor and fan blade. Cleaning it annually is important for longevity but will not drastically increase efficiency or running ability of unit. If customer thinks unit is running poorly I recommended calling quietcool to check on warranty status of unit.
Arrive and install Fireplace Remote homeowners have already paid for. Cycle on unit with new remote and teach homeowners the operation of the ON mode, the thermostat mode, and the off mode. Hang the remote on the wall where the old thermostat used to be. Fireplace is up and running. I leave the pilot lit today.

FIREPLACE DIAGNOSTIC. Arrive and homeowners explain that the unit is working sporadically. The pilot light never shuts off on them but the burner will rarely come on when either of the switches, under the unit or from the thermostat on the wall. I find the master switch underneath the unit to be working intermittently as well as the wall thermostat to not cycle the unit on at at all unless jumped through. Check milovolt reading on thermopile- 538mV and 180 with burner on, thermopile is giving good readings slightly weak but the burner should be able to operate with anything above 150mV. The thermostat and the master switch were not designed for millivolt switching like the fireplace needs in order to work properly. Recommend first a replacement remote with a timer function that is a proper Millivolt switch as well as annual maintenance on the fireplace to monitor its health and keep it in good shape and clean/decorated.
