Hot Water Heater replacement estimate

Randy, the estimator was very courteous, polite, punctual, professional. Replacing an existing 40 gallon water heater, with another (very accessible) 40 gallon hot water heater for $3,500 seems very excessive. Googling water heater installations suggests the national average to be around $1,500. The estimate did not provide the name of the water heater. (I was told the name, but do not recall).

Response from Home Energy Experts Inc.:

Thank you for your feedback Larry. I have reviewed the estimate provided to you by Randy and the water heater that was included in your estimate is out of the norm of a standard 40 gallon water heater and there is required safety code requirements that are needed. If you would like to speak about this further, or if we can be of any further assistance, please give our office a call at (775) 786-4357. Sincerely, Eric Robnett

Came out today to build an estimate for him on a new water heater through Home Depot. See estimates for details as well as the pictures. Customer was not expecting this much of a price and will be getting other bids. He is going to let us know if he wants to move forward with the project. If he does decide to move forward with the project I’d let him know that because it is a specialty water heater we are going to have to plan it for a couple weeks advance for Home Depot to acquire the water heater.

Upon arrival found air conditioner low on refrigerant Gave customer option of repair vs replace he wanted to go with the repair I let him no that any repair done on the system would not be covered by any warranty even if it’s the next day due to the air conditioner being r22 refrigerant. Gave option to do a leak test, vacuum test, refrigerant balance, and leak seal if any repairs are need we will discuss then. Customer only wanted to go with charging the air conditioner and adding leak seal Added 5lbs of r22 refrigerant, and added leak seal . Check vstat it was 41-42 which is perfect Check temperature split had 45degrees out of the supply and 75 coming into the return 30 degree split perfect. Check static pressure .16inwc on the supply side .51inwc on the return side recommend upgrading the return air for better efficiency Check contactor and capacitor 44/5mfd Check amp draws on the compressor 6.6amps and condenser fan motor.6amps Again no warranty comes with the work tod

Upon Arrival tenant was concerned that every time the heater is on that they feel like they get sick. Due to age of equipment it’s not worth putting any money into because it’s past it’s life expectancy and it’s also very inefficient. Any questions please call Brandon 602-736-3077
