Performed routine maintenance on a 2013 carrier heat pump split system for the main area and a 1998 Goodman heat pump split system for the mini area. The carrier is starting to show signs of its age though it is running properly at this time. The evaporator coil is starting to get chewed up from corrosion as well as the secondary pan underneath of the unit. The 1998 is working it has had a repair to the accumulator recently. The company that did the repair used 407C refrigerant which I educated the customer on. The evaporator coil has heavy corrosion on it as well as the inside insulation is starting to come apart. Both systems have 22 year old duct board trunk lines. Once customer is ready to replace the systems I recommend having both of them replaced along with the equipment. Please schedule customer for a early November maintenance to get his heat checked out. I’m recommending replacement on the 1998 Goodman system. Pictures are enclosed of some of the damage.
