Performed maintenance and inspection on air conditioning system. Checked electrical connections and components and tested motors. Recorded amp draws refrigerant pressures and temperatures and observed operation. Everything working normally at this time.
Fall maintenance performed on Lennox split system heat pump. Checked electrical and mechanical components, tested motor capacitors and amperage, recorded refrigerant readings, and measured temperature rise. No discrepancies noted and maintenance is completed. Offered listed estimates while on-site; customer declined all offers at this time.
Upon arrival homeowner informed me of the units previous issues. Per the previous invoices the main concern was to test defrost. Tested defrost function as well as checked amps on the compressor and fan motor and checked refrigerant. System is heating at this time. Recommend continued maintenance.
Performed fall maintenance. Checked amps, capacitor, electrical connections, heat strips, refrigerant levels, and cleaned condenser coil. System is heating at this time. Recommend continued maintenance.
As per previous invoice, condenser fan motor not getting power thru relay on control board. Returned with new control board. Installed new board and cycled ac on to test operation of system. Everything working properly at this time. Cannot test defrost cycle due to high outdoor temps, informed customer that we guarantee our work for 1 year so if she has issues with new board there will be no return service call.
On arrival found thermostat in off position and service disconn3ct for outdoor unit in off position. Turned thermostat to Cool and applied power to outdoor unit. Noted that contactor is pulled in but nothing is running. Removed power and checked components. Found that condenser fan motor is burnt out and capacitor is wired incorrectly. Capacitor is wired so all power for compressor and fan is routed thru fan motor. Corrected wiring of capacitor and tested compressor. Compressor appears to be undamaged. Customer was also concerned about some wires that were sticking up thru the grill from the newly replaced fan motor. Explained that those wires are to change the rotation of the motor depending on what the unit requires. Wires are 240 volts and should not be left exposed for safety reasons. Explained that when I replace the motor the wires will be secured safely below the grill. Customer approved quote to replace fan motor, installed new universal motor and matching capacitor, explaining
Arrived on site to perform cooling maintenance on newer Lennox split system. Set thermostat into cooling and went to attic unit. Checked temp split and blower amps. Disconnected power and checked evap coil and electrical connections as well as the drain pan and drain line and the blower condition. Went to outdoor unit and checked refrigerant levels and amp draws for the CFM and compressor. Disconnected power and checked capacitor readings and CFM condition as well as the electrical connections. No issues found at this time. All work is complete.
