Client requested an estimate to replace a gas furnace and air conditioner. I recommend replacing it with a Carrier 96% 80,000 BTU Gas Furnace and a Carrier 16 SEER 3 Ton Air Conditioner. Included in the estimate is a 1 year free service maintenance agreement.

I arrived to perform a diagnostic on an air conditioning unit. Upon arrival customer informed tech that there was a noise coming from their condenser when it turned on and off. While unit was running tech pulled disconnect and fan made a clunking sound. Tech checked wiring inside unit and capacitor. All were fine. Tech checked blade of fan. Nothing was obstructing fan. After talking to supervisor. Tech feels that fan motor is going bad. This issue has been reported by other techs who worked on unit. Customer may call back into the office to get a part replacement scheduled.

I completed annual Maintenance Tune-Up & Safety Check on Bryant Air Conditioning Unit. I rinsed Coils before starting tune-up. I found and replaced dirty furnace filter with one customer provided. I performed checklist. I was getting high compressor amp readings during tune-up. Compressor looks to be going bad. Due to age of unit customer wants to get an estimate on replacement of system instead of doing any repairs.

I performed diagnostic on Carrier Air Conditioning Unit. Customer changed their thermostat and system is no longer working. I determined that low voltage fuse had blown at circuit board. I replaced fuse and system came on properly. At some point during installation of the thermostat there was a low voltage short and tripped fuse. System is working properly now. Cooling/running at time of my departure.

I performed call back service on Carrier 13 SEER 3 Ton Air Conditioning Unit. System has a delay timer that was keeping it off. The delay was added to help with short cycling. System working properly at this time.

I performed scheduled maintenance tune-up & Safety Check on Bryant Air Conditioning Unit. I found the compressor side of capacitor is reading in range but on the low side. I rinsed coils before doing tune-up. I found the unit to be undercharged with refrigerant. I informed customer of repair and replacement options. Customer plans to move in the near future so they have declined to make any changes at this time.
