Arrived to replace outdoor PCB board on ductless mini split. Indoor head in the 3 season room has been faulting out on a code E1 sporadically for the past year but now won’t even run. Recently replaced the indoor PCB board and it didn’t fix the issue. According to Carriers service manual the outdoor PCB was the next step. Called Carrier tech support and explained issue. Found out the issue is with the wire between the indoor and outdoor unit. According to Carrier it’s supposed to be stranded wire instead of solid wire. Both heads have solid wire ran to them from the outdoor unit. Carrier has found that after a year or so of use with solid wire the indoor heads will start faulting a code E1 randomly. Install manager is informed about job and will be reaching out to the customer with a game plan and cost for replacing the wire to both indoor heads.

I performed diagnostic on Bryant Air Conditioning Unit. I determined that capacitor has failed. I replaced capacitor to finish diagnostic. I found the system very low on charge. After talking to customer about needed repairs, customer decided to just replace system.

I completed spring tune up on a Trane heat pump. I visually inspected the furnace. I inspected the evaporator coil. I checked the temperature difference across the coil. Checked voltage and amps. Inspected heat pump. Checked refrigerant charge, voltages and amps. I rinsed the condenser coils with water. Cycled and monitored the system. Operating normally at this time.

I gave an estimate to install a Carrier 16 SEER 3.5 Ton Air Conditioner and a Carrier "Infinity Series" 80% 2 Stage Variable Speed 90,000 BTU Gas Furnace. I included in the estimate is a 1 year free service maintenance agreement and removal of current Lennox HVAC System.

I completed scheduled maintenance tune-up and safety check on Comfortmaker Air Conditioning Unit. I found delta was high during checkout. I verified filter and blower motor/wheel were clean. I determined blower speed needed adjusted. I got second opinion with supervisor. I adjusted dip switches to get proper airflow. System now operating within specs.
