I completed the scheduled maintenance agreement cooling tune up on an air conditioner. I visually inspected the unit. Checked voltages, amps and pressures. I inspected the evaporator coil. I checked the temperature difference across the coil. Inspected heat pump. Checked refrigerant charge, voltages and amps. I rinsed the condenser coils with water. I found that 35/3 capacitor is low. 30/3. I then let customer know that if they wanted capacitor replaced, we have to order it prior to replacing the old one. They want to see if they can make it through the summer. Also found that unit is low on refrigerant. Customer wants to try to get one more year out of unit before repair/replace. Cycled and monitored system. All operating normally at this time.

I performed diagnostic service call on Goodman Air Conditioning Unit. I determined that water got into furnace and in the heat exchanger. With the water inside of the furnace this leads to rusted and cracked heat exchanger as well as being blocked with water. When the heat exchanger is compromised it increases the chance for carbon monoxide poisoning. The circuit board, transformer and blower motor has also failed due to the water. Based on conditions of this furnace it is not safe to run and needs replaced.
