Customer said unit wasn't cooling. Found thermostat calling for heatand cooling at the same time. Need to replace thermostat. Bypassed thermostat and ran system through cooling cycle. Found condensing coil dirty. Split and wash condensing coil. Reset unit and ran system through operation. Checked refrigerant charge, took temp reading on supply and return air, took line temp temps. Found txv shutting down causing high superheat and high subcooling. Subcooling called for 3 degrees, unit was running 8 degrees, superheat was running at 41 degrees. Need to replace txv, recovery refrigerant, change dryer, pull vacuum on system, recharge unit, and test system. Lewisville store has txv in stocks. Customer is trying to submit repairs to his insurance for a claim.
