Came out today for a no heat call. Upon arrival I found that the thermostat was calling for heat but it is on auxiliary heat. I turned the system off and back on . After a short delay the system started. I inspected the heat pump further and noticed that the compressor was not operating. I took an amp draw and received a reading of 0. I restet the system and called for heat again. After the delay I received a short amp reading of 22 amp and then back to 0. The compressor will not operate. The system is 17 years old and is out of warranty. The system also uses r-22 refrigerant. Chud’s recommendation is to update the system. Goodman heat pump model #Gsh130301cb, serial #1205261587. I will pass this information to Chud’s comfort advisor.
