Arrived on site, pilot is out on boiler. Tried to re light and pilot wouldn’t stay lit once releasing pilot button. Pressure relief valve is also leaking along with the expansion tank failing. Expansion tank is very old and mounted up into the floor bay. Air eliminator that expansion is piped into is also failing because customer is getting cold spots in the house. The gas valve and pilot assembly will need to be replaced along with expansion tank and pressure relief valve. The plumbing to remove and replace expansion is extensive and will require multiple fittings. RC quoted $3,375.00 for repair. RC quoted $9,500.00 for replacement of boiler and all parts needed. Install will include new CGa6 175,000 btu boiler with Taco 4 zone circulator control board, 1 1/4 inch spiro vent air eliminator, new expansion tank, new auto fill with back flow preventer, we will replace approximately 4 or 5 corroded isolation valves. I gave customer the option of replacing 4 thermostats for $150 per therm
