We had to purchase a whole new HVAC system once Classic found a leak in our old system (it was overdue for an upgrade). As an additional service they came out to temporarily charge our old system again so we would have cool air during the two week wait for our installation. Great customer service and knowledgeable technicians!

Cleaned & checked condensing gas furnace. Inspected heat exchanger & flue venting. cleaned burners & flame sensor. Checked voltage & amp draw of motors. Test capacitor. Checked filter. Blower: 3.4A. Inducer: 2.65A. Gas pressure: 3.1 inches water column. Temperature rise: 68 . Supply: 131. Return: 63 .
Complaint: cycles fast and noisy. I set up stat for “gas” heat, set cycle rate from “FA” to “SL”, set blower for -18%. Blower: 2.7A, 861cfm. Checked temperature rise. 50. Supply:125. Return: 75.
cleaned & checked A/C & performed Ameren post data efficiency analysis. Test capacitor. Found run capacitor weak: 28&61%low. Replaced capacitor and tested amp draw. Checked Freon level. Low. Topped off with R22 Freon. Checked blower and found bearings very worn. May fail at any time. System has a thermostatic expansion valve that does not regulate superheat properly. System is not cooling to four capacity. Worn compressor. Cooling at 64% of capacity at this time. Compressor: 9.9A. Condenser fan: 0.52A. Blower: 4.1A, MH .ambient:78 .liquid line:93 .suction line: 36 .metering device: TXV . Suction pressure: 63(36) .head pressure:187(97) . Return air: 68.2 .supply air: 51.9 .wet bulb: 58.2 . Work suggested: replace system. Recommend replacing sooner rather than later. Freon charge can be credited toward new equipment.
