Client called us out today due to her boiler not firing. Tech went out confirmed Wells McLean 20+ year-old atmospheric boiler is not firing. Tech checked safety devices to ensure they were not locked out 24 V going through all of them. Tech informed client we would have to perform a diagnostic and quoted work. Client approved. Technician tested the electrical control system, and found the flame rollout switch had shorted out. There doesn’t appear to be any burn marks on the flame road switch tech speculates. it shorted out when the boiler was re-lighted if the power was still on. Tech also noted there is a leak above the boiler, which is pooling inside the burner chamber. Tech bypassed the flame roll out switched to continue testing. The boiler boiler would fire up however, the glycol that is pulling inside the burner chamber would ignite, causing excess flame and heat from the boiler causing a dangerous situation is turned off the gas and power to the boiler until repairs can be com
