Today I cane to Paul’s Haysboro home to evaluate the sanitary sewer after a back up. Paul has explained that there was once a 70 foot poplar tree in the front yard that was taken down. 7 years who the sewer backed up again and had to be cleared. Yesterday the sewer backed up and was cleared this morning. Upon camera inspection I found the interior cast iron piping system is in relatively good condition. Once the pipe passes the homes footing it transitions to a concrete asbestos pipe. This connection between cast iron and concrete is broken and allowing root intrusions. There are 2 other breaks allowing roots in the line until the city’s clay piping stub. The sanitary sewer should be lined and permanently fixed before collapse.
