Today I came to Brant’s Okotoks home to perform the annual furnace service and inspection. The ac system was installed by Clearview last year. Upon inspection and service I tested and adjusted gas valve, burners, gas pressure and temperature rise. Pulled and cleaned the flame sensor. Tested ignition system, inducing motor and assembly, blower motor and assembly, heat exchanger, humidifier, static pressures, all safety switches and control board. Furnace is in poor-fair condition. The 20 year old furnace is showing signs of aging and ware. The flame sensor and igniter were replaced 2 years ago and remain in good working condition. As stated last year, the inducing / exhaust fan is far over amperage. This indicates impending failure. The blower motor has over heated at least once and has spilled it lubricants. This is like running your car with no oil and will cause failure. The exhaust and heat exchanger are leaking condensation (not good). The heat exchanger shows signs of advanced a
