Performed diagnostic on 2017 system. Homeowner states that she smells smoke when the system is running. She can only smell it in the living room, no other room. Cycled system for cooling. Homeowner pointed me to where she can smell the smoke. After carefully checking everything, found that smell is coming from the the fireplace in the living room. Supply vent is pointed to the fireplace, which Is agitating the smell out the fireplace. Checked outdoor unit electrical and system components. Secondary motor control is starting to fall out of range. Amp draws are in range for compressor and condenser fan motor. Pulled condenser fan motor and thoroughly washed out condenser coil. Filter was recently replaced and is clean. Went over findings and recommendations. Signed homeowner on ESA Maintenance Program. System is fully operational upon departure.
