Arrived on site to diagnose a no heating 1980 day n night system. Fund and evaporator coil located in hall closet. Upon arrival spoke over with tenant and she apostates furnace has been down for a year and since then the gas company came out and red tagged it due to a cracked for box ( heat exchanger ). Inspected system burners due to being a clam shell design and found a crack in the second chamber on the dimples. Advised home owner of finds and concerns. As well advised owner he will need to keep gas off until system is replaced. Owner is aware of condition and findings of the crack. Advised now is the time to consider full system replacement due to age, condition, bad heat exchanger, R-22 Refrigerant and cost of repairs needed. System is not operational due to failed heat exchanger. Will not be collecting Diagnostic fee at this time. If client chooses to move forward with replacing $98 fee will go toward cost of system.
