Arrived on site to perform combo tune up on a 1980 carrier unit. Condenser located in back yard furnace and evaporator coil located in back yard closet. Client stated no issue just wanted system to get inspected and evaluated. Advised client I’d be inspecting both unit for proper operation and efficiency. Advised the summary of findings are as followed. Condenser 1. Carrier unit original to home. 2. Washed unit inside and out was really dirty from lack of maintenance in past years. 3. Found fan motor leaking a lot of oil as motor has a thick layer of dried up oil from working. 4. Primary motor control has burnt pitting from self wear in past years. 5. Secondary motor motor control is now weak and below range and will continue to get weaker as system work hard. Recommend replacing before completely fails and says will not operate. 6.checked compressor amp drawls. Start up are in range.
