Performed AC maintenance/inspection on three system Rheem condensing units. During my maintenance I came across a few points of concerns They need to be evaluated and addressed. This will help maintain system Peak efficiency and increase longevity of systems Rheem 4 ton living area- 1. Found the compressor was pulling 20 A which is incredibly high when system is rated at 21.1 A 2. High voltage Relay responsible for starting system showing 12 ohms on low-voltage coil and pitting on contact points. 3. System pressures are adequate although indicating that there may be an air restriction causing coil to freeze up or be much lower in suction line temperature this cannot drop below 32 we are at 36 right now. 4. Single run capacitors taped together in weak on compressor side terminal in micro ferrets 5. Disconnect supported by fuses although not by surge protection 6.
