Performed AC diagnostic on 1995 comfort maker condensing unit. Upon my diagnostic I found that the system was on although would shut off after about 15 minutes. This has been caused due to the compressor going off on thermal overload and the pressure relief valve releasing pressure due to high amounts building up. 3.5 ton Comfortmaker- 1. Compressor going off on thermal overload and opening pressure release valve. Windings within compressor are overheating due to insulation thinning out. Compressor is on borrowed time and occurs at the end of compressor life. 2. System contains R22 refrigerant Which has been completely phased out as of January 1, 2020. 3. High voltage relay showing signs of pitting/burn makes on contact points about 95%. 4. Compressor pulling incredibly high amperage at 21 A with max rated amps on data plate are only 19.2. This is also the reason why the compressor is failing due to high energy consumption in overworking. Recommendations- 1. Replacement of R22 3.5 ton
