Performed diagnostic on 18 year old unit. Homeowner states that his heating and cooling system are working perfectly fine and his not had any issues. Cycled system for heating. Checked indoor unit electrical and system components. Temperature rise across heat exchanger is at lower level of allowed range and is good. Static pressure slightly high on supply side. Master bedroom duct is extremely kinked and very restricted the way they strapped it up. Blower wheel is starting to accumulate dust and is getting dirty. This can throw the wheel off balance as well as added stress to the indoor motor. Pulled out indoor motor to take a look at heat exchanger. Some chambers do have hot spots that can be concerning in the future. Gas line does not have a sediment trap before entering furnace. System also does not have any condensation safety switches on any of the drain lines. Overall system is of older age and is starting to show its wear and tear.
