Technician arrived on site and installed new s30 with smart hub. Thermostat would power on but there was still communication errors. Found that previous company had improperly wired zoning control board and wirings going to the indoor unit. Had to replace all low voltage wiring. The furnace connected and was heating. Still no cooling. Found a defective float switch that was cutting power to the outdoor unit. Bypassed it and the outdoor unit came on. Unit is now heating and cooling properly. Found no surge protection on the unit. These units are communicating systems with a total of 4 control boards. Expensive ones too. It’s strongly recommended that surge protection is installed on the equipment.
