Performed assessment on unit. Homeowners just got system replaced but are concerned with how loud the unit is. Unit is an Upflow in the garage with a hallway return. Noise that homeowners are concerned with is the noise from the unit in the hallway, and also a noise in the wall upstairs. Noise in the wall upstairs is coming from the vent pipe being caused by the inducer motor. Not much that can be done about this noise. Downstairs hallway noise is being caused by draft of air being pulled by the motor. Unfortunately because the return is so close to the unit, there is also nothing that can be done to really eliminate the noise entirely. Ductwork, supply registers and return register can and should be replaced, but would ultimately help more with efficiency and slightly with the noise level. No estimates, only ballpark prices given. Homeowner is going to call company that installed it to try and get better pricing as part of the install. System is operational upon departure.
