Performed AC maintenance on 20-year-old two system carrier condensing units. Upon my meetings I came across a few points concerns that were addressed. 5 ton left side of house- 1. Found the king valve on liquid side is leaking refrigerant From valve, valve must be replaced to fix this issue. 2. System is low on R22 refrigerant, This refrigerant was also phased out January 1, 2020. 3. Condenser fan motor pulling high amperage due to windings overheating over the years 4. Compressor pulling high amperage on start up. 5. High-voltage relay showing signs of pitting on contact points this can lead to failure on start up or fuses popping. 5 ton right side of house- 1. Compressor pulling incredibly high amperage on start up due to lock rotors wear and tear. 2. Condenser fan motor also pulling high amperage due to rust on shaft and winding damage. 3. Condenser coil showing signs of coil rot on bottom of system. This is a red flag for refrigerant leaks.
