Performed AC Diagnostic on 20-year-old Lennox system. Upon my diagnostic William had stated That’s the house smells like an electrical fire when the indoor blower motor kicked on. So he proceeded to the attic to unplug the furnace. Further into the investigation I found That the indoor blower compartment smelled like burnt electrical wires. So I bypassed the door switch and jumped out the cooling wire of the fan to see if the motor would spin, Mechanically the motor spins but electrically the windings are shot This is what caused the burning smell throughout the house. Advised William that the system is 20 years old and any repairs done to it will be considered a Band-Aid and are not guaranteed to Increase the life of the system. Provided repair options for this issue and will be ordering an indoor blower motor to install on Monday.
