Client reports that their system is blowing warm air and the outdoor unit is humming. Findings: (1) Opened up the service and found the battery cap has popped. (2) Replaced the cap and tested the system. (3) Let the system run for about 5 minutes. Found that the condenser fan motor is operating within manufacturer specifications. Found the compressor is not operating within manufacturer specifications. The compressor is over amping and this may be the reason to why the older cap failed in the first place. When a motor over amps it will overheat and usually begins to damage components tied to it. (4) Advised the client of the situation. He understands and is waiting for the home warranty program to start next month. Notes: (1) Unknown how long the compressor will last as it continues to over amp.
