Arrived on site to diagnose a 2005 unit not cooling. Was not last month for unit not cooling. Got unit running and advised husband about unit’s over condition and how inefficient unit is. Husband was aware of compressor condition and that it’s on borrowed time. But did hold off on repairs. Came out today recently over night the unit was reining and then made a really loud noise and since she hasnt ran unit. Cycled cooling on. Indoor was operational. Inspected condenser. Found fan motor was on but did not hear compressor running. Advised inspected electrical compartment. Checked wires and found the compressor wires are burnt up from over heating and melted off. This is caused by compressor working extremely hard then it should causing wires to get hot and then melt if ran for a long time. Inspected secondary motor control. Found com terminal got a bit burnt up too and now has a lot of play and it should. Advised probably melted the connections inside part. Advised would replace burn
