No batteries found in flood stop, alarm was not to work Found standing water in drip pan under water heater Through diagnostic discovery found that water appears to be coming into pan through drain hole on sidewall of pan, this pan sits below tile level After water was removed and heater turned back on no water appeared to be pooling under water heater As a courtesy chipped grout and sealed off drain hole with metallic tape inside and outside of pan to prevent water pooling inside pan (no warranty) Through discovery questioning the situation unfolded as followed Water was discovered in basement (concrete slab) in multiple locations including bedroom away from laundry/mechanical room Water pooling in laundry/mechanical room and went under wall into adjacent bathroom and closet standing water on both sides of wall Tenant mopped up water shut down water heater water inlet valve and gas valve this all took place while power was out, during cleanup power was restored cleanup was finished
