Tom called (Oly) my on my cell with no hot water home and the Navien tankless showing a code reading "773-00 Improper gas type". He also mentioned that the Propane tank was filled 5 to 7 days ago He called Navien per my recommendation. They will not assist him because he is not a technician with proper test equipment. I called Navien tech support after waiting on hold, opted for cue. After waiting for 30 minutes called Nick at Navien. Because the tank had been recently filled. He believes the unit has either seen a dip or a spike in pressure Nick and I gave Tom direction over the phone to correct issue: Step #1 hold "M" and "BACK" buttons at the same time for 3 seconds Step #2 click "installer menu" Step #3 type in passcode "1234" using the arrows and Ok button Step #4 select option #2 Parameter settings Step #5 scroll down to #16 gas connect error check Step #6 press ok the down arrow and ok again Step #7 select "Turn off" Water heater is now up and running. Arrived on site. Performed factory authorized warranty change out of Navion 240A2 tankless water heater. Removed existing unit and installed direct replacement. Converted to new unit to propane. Set domestic hot recirc. programming to “always on” and internal valve to “external”. Purged air from lines. Tested water at nearest and farthest fixtures. Note: Hot wait time on furthest fixture was four seconds for a warm water and eight seconds for hot water. Bringing old unit and water test sample back to shop as requested by management. Arrived on site to perform warranty replacement of leaking tankless water heater. Call Nick at Proctor Sales is directed to have a conference call with Navien Tech Support. Send pictures as required. Provided registration information as required. Explained that the customer had been without hot water since last Saturday. Waited for tech support to get back to me. When Jerry for tech support called me back he informed me that I was only approved for heat exchanger an internal circulator a replacement. I informed him that this was not acceptable as I was working on an island and it took four hours to get to the job site. (Which he already knew.). Furthermore, I did not have a heat exchanger nor did I have the circulator with me to replace, that I only had a Navien tankless unit with me. Drew water sample for future testing. Caught the 6:15 am sailing from Anacortes. Arrived on site. Shut down and isolated boiler. Performed partial removal and disposal of existing combustion air & vent piping. Disconnected fuel piping and low-voltage wiring as required. Removed existing heat exchanger as required. Provide and install new Buderus combustion air / vent kit. Reinstalled existing heat exchanger. Performed new venting and combustion air piping as required. Reconnected gas piping and low-voltage wiring. Replaced pressure switch as required. Returned system to service. Increased pressure at PRV from 12PSI to 15PSI. NOTE: Increase in pressure resolved the flashing “H7” error code. Performed testing of carbon monoxide in boiler cabinet. No traces of CO were discovered. Perform testing for gas leaks. No traces of gas were discovered. Cycle tested indirect hot water heater. Confirmed operation of thermostats. All components of hydronic heating system are performing as designed. Arrived

Caught 6:20am sailing MADRONA HOUSE Performed replacement of qty. 10 tekmar 541 thermostats with new tekmar 532 thermostats. Tested operation. Discovered that the existing (bottom) tekmar 335 zone control was not controlling 4 out of 5 thermostats. Replaced both tekmar 335 zone controls as directed by Tom. Disposed of defective tekmar 335 and save existing functional 335 for emergency back up. Also saved new tekmar 423 for back up. Please note: The tekmar 420 control (direct replacement) is no longer produced nor available. The Tekmar 423 is the closest substitute.
