Service call that the Heat was not working for the 1st Floor System. Upon arrival found system turned off. Turned power on to unit to test. Found System going through startup but the Gas Valve would not open. Tested Gas Valve and was intermittently receiving voltage for only a split second before cutting out and then unit would try to start again. Tested Coil on Gas Valve and removed leads to test voltage. When leads are removed the Gas Valve maintains the 24 Volts. The Gas Valve has failed internally and due to the control board only sending an Intermittent signal to the Valve, the Control Board is failing also. Would have to replace Gas Valve and Control Board. Due to age of system, homeowner is going to look into replacement of the system rather than repair.
