Service call that the AC was not operating. Upon arrival, spoke with Owner and Tenant about issue. System was turned off at the Thermostat. Turned System to Cooling to test. Found the Blower Motor was running but the Outdoor Unit was not turning on. Tested Voltage at the Outdoor Unit, which was not receiving any Voltage. Inspected the Breaker/Disconnect which was tripped. Reset and turned back on. The Breaker tripped immediately. Also found burnt wires at the Outdoor Disconnect/Breaker. Disassembled the Outdoor Unit to Access the Compressor. The Compressor Terminals and Windings were completely melted and blown apart. Hooked gauges up to the system and found system to be out of Refrigerant. Pressure tested system with 300 PSI of Nitrogen. Found leak at the Compressor itself. Need to replace the Compressor and the Wiring Harness for the Compressor. Also would replace the Outdoor Disconnect due to the Damaged wiring which could have damaged the Breaker.
