Found air handler running in basement but not outside heat pump. Found 30amp breaker tripped in basement. Went to re-set breaker and it instantly tripped again. Put gauges on system and there was 132 lbs 410a standing pressure. Checked legs of compressor power wires to ground. Found that compressor has locked up. Explained to homeowner the situation. Told her that replacing the compressor would not be worth it on a 2006 heat pump. Homeowner did mention to possibly switch over to a gas furnace and a/c , but does not currently have gas in the home. Called and set up appointment with the office for this evening.
