Heat Tune Up [4 Ton Outdoor with 5 Ton Indoor] Heat Pump with 14.4KW Strip heater. Replaced 313 Filter. Checked drain. Checked static pressure. Measured temperature rise. Checked compressor amps, outdoor capacitor and refrigerant pressures. Strip heater amps ok. Found load side terminal has melted the plastic cover of the single point entry kit at air handler. Solution is to change 100A double pole breaker to a 60A double pole breaker. Add a 30 A DP breaker and run a new length of 10/2 wire from that breaker to air handler breaker. Aside from high voltage issue at air handler, system is operating well at the time of this maintenance.
