Service call that the Gas Fired Furnace is making a loud noise when it is running. Upon arrival, spoke with Homeowner about issue. Turned Furnace on at the Thermostat and proceeded to the Unit to troubleshoot. Found Draft Inducer Motor is making a squealing/whining type noise. When the Motor is manually spun, a grinding noise can be heard. Measured Pressure across the Pressure Switch to ensure the Motor was pulling the proper pressure. Amp readings on the Motor were within rating, but were lower than normal operating Amps. Motor is rated for 1.7 Amps and is running at 1.1 Amps. While the Inducer Motor is working, the internal bearings are starting to grind and not work as smoothly which is causing the excess noise. Corrosion was found on Flue Pipe which could also be contributing to the Inducer Motors condition. Recommendation is to replace the Draft Inducer Motor Assembly before any further issues occur. Will call the Manufacturer on Monday and get pricing for a Draft Inducer Motor. W
