Service call that the AC was not working. Upon arrival found system turned off. Turned system to cooling to test operation. Blower motor was running and the outdoor fan was running, but the compressor was not turning on. Tested components and found dual capacitor on the outdoor unit had failed and there were burnt wires at the Capacitor. Replaced Dual Capacitor and repaired wiring and wiring connectors. Put system in operation and tested additional components. Measured refrigerant charge on system. Found Subcooling levels to be higher than normal, but outdoor coil is dirty and blocking air flow. Would recommend a chemical cleaning of the outdoor coil and rechecking refrigerant pressures to ensure they are to standards. Would also recommend performing a full AC Tune Up on system after cleaning coil.
