Found system low on charge. R-22 pressures were 129/28 with 0 subcooling. We were out in April and refrigerant pressures were ok. System must have a decent refrigerant leak. Explained to homeowner the process is if he was going to jut add charge and leak dye to the system this will help locate the leak but if leak ends up in indoor coil, coil will be $4000 to $4500 to replace. Provided estimate to add refrigerant with leak dye. Heat pump system is a 2004 and highly recommended to replace heat pump system. Set up appointment with office to have bill come out to give an estimate. Homeowner also showed me a room upstairs that never has cooled right and was curious about a ductless system for this room.
