Performed Precision AC Tune Up on system. As per homeowners request, left several 16x25x1 Air Filters on site. Inspected electrical components on indoor and outdoor units. While inspecting system, found Outdoor Capacitor was at its lowest recommended rating. Capacitor is rusted and appears in poor condition. Contactor is worn and pitted and a voltage drop was measured across the Contactor coil indicating that it is becoming weak. Would recommend replacement of these components before they fail which could cause damage to the compressor. Cleared AC Drain Line and poured water through drain to test. Measured refrigerant charge and found system to be only giving a 12 Degree Temperature split due to being low on charge. Added 2 lbs of R-22 to system, charging by Superheat standards. System is operating, but due to age and poor condition of system, replacement of the Gas Furnace/AC system is recommended.
