Service call that there was water on the floor around the water heater. Upon arrival, found water on floor in basement. Checked Relief Valve pipe and found water in pipe indicating the relief had opened. Checked water pressure with the water heater fully heated and no water running which was at 75 PSI. Tested outside hose bib which was around 75 PSI with the Water Running and 65 PSI when the hose bib was closed off. Homeowner also noted intermittent water pressure problems throughout the house. Also noted the thermostat was turned up to “B†setting which was testing at 142 Degree water temperature at the kitchen sink. Turned Water Heater setting down to “Hotâ€. Also found Rust along bottom side of water heater opposite to where the Relief Valve is. Was informed by homeowner that there was a previous issue that had been corrected with the old abandoned flue pipe leaking onto the water heater.
