Found water on floor around pressure relief valve piping of MrsGodwin’s Utica Boiler. In conversing with Mrs Godwin the pressure relief valve started opening a couple of months age. I Dried floor area and emptied buckets that were being used to catch relief water. Cycled boiler on using first floor stat; watched T/P grage on boiler. Relief valve started trickling at 25 psi. Boiler pressure climbed to 30 psi within 5 min of making the call for heat. There is a severely corroded gate valve in the piping of the drum style expansion tank. Replace boiler pressure relief valve, fitting in piping upstream of expansion tank. Replace expansion tank with bladder style tank.
