Went downstairs to furnace, got homeowner to give a call for heat on the second floor zone 2. Found first floor zone damper humming loudly. Went over to communicating zone board and found zone board sending 24 volts to both power open and power closed terminals to zone 1 first floor zone damper. This set up is exclusive to carrier. Recommend replacing zone board and 2 24x10 power open power closed zone boards. Called distributer for price and availability. Also talked to homeowner about replacement of entire furnace a/c and zone package with a more universal Honeywell zone board set up. Was not able to get ahold of distributer on site. Told homeowner price to replace zoning package is around $2000. They are also not easy access.
