Found trane heat pump running when I arrived. Customer stated last night after technician left system was running and cooling but in the middle of the night shut down and the temperature was rising. We had installed a hard start kit yesterday after compressor was over heated and had shut down. Told customer that the compressor could be starting to fail and replacement of the compressor could be around $4,000 to install. Highly don’t recommend putting a compressor into a 11 year old heat pump, recommended to customer to replace system. Checked amperage readings of compressor while I was there it was amping around 10.3 amps. Refrigerant pressures were 284/117 with 10 degrees of subcooling. Set up appointment with office to have a comfort consultant come out to give a price on replacement of the system.
