I am a home service technician, and I was called to a client's home to fix a gas water heater. The client reported that the thermocoupler was not keeping the pilot lit, and I suspected that the gasket for the burner assembly was worn out. I talked to the supervisor, and he advised me to order a new control valve and gasket. I will order the parts on Monday, as they are close today. We will need to see how much the control valve costs and give them a price for that and the T&P valve.
