James was really good at explaining everything going on with my heater, suggested lower price fixes vs. entire system replacements. Also made a recommendation for a chimney sweep and what to expect when calling chimney sweep companies.
I had been searching for "A reliable, trustworthy heater guy" for over 5 years. I got referred to these guys by a fiscally responsible friend. I had a quote to get a our heater replaced by a different much larger corporation for over $10K. I got a second opinion by ECI. The technician gave me a full technical breakdown of what was happening. John analyzed that my heater only needed a system purge to keep running the way it has for 5 years.. This cost roughly $250 bucks. Needless to say, I was very happy when John told me I could probably get another 5 years out of my current boiler. On the other hand, I was rather aggravated with my current HVAC servicing company—trying to push and overcharge for many services/items. My price of repair was quoted at $2,700. Although not the most efficient heater, I can now save for a quite a while before I have to purchase a new one. Word to the wise: Always get quotes from multiple companies. I trust and recommend these guys.
Giving a second opinion. The original company, the ones in orange Trucks, are telling the customer he needs over 2800.00 in repairs, or over $10,000. For replacement. Only needed to be purged. Technicians in white shirts are only salesman. Don't fall for the hype.
