I arrived to perform an estimate for a home to install a new furnace and air conditioner, but upon my inspection of the home I came to the conclusion that it is going to involve figuring out a new way to hook up the return to a new system which will involve ductwork. Did not send estimate.
I arrived to a diagnostic call. Upon arrival, I found the drain clogged. Cleared drain, but water continued to drip from the bottom of furnace. Metal drain pan is rusted out. System is from 1978. Client will let me know if he wants me to see if pan is available
I performed a diagnostic on carrier 96% 60,000 BTU gas furnace and upon inspection found that ignitor and board needed replaced. I quoted price of repairs vs price of new system. Customer chose to replace system.
Replaced the ignitor on the Goodman gas furnace and restarted system. System is operational and heating the house.
