I arrived for a non member no heat call. I first spoke with the homeowner and found that the system runs but will not heat the home. I inspected the indoor system and found the insulation to be sucking up into the blower motor. I also found the high limit switch to have a melted wire on it. I installed two brackets to hold the insulation in place and I replaced the melted wire. I then cycled the system on in heatpump mode and in emergency heat mode and found all 5KW heat strips to be running at 20 amps and total the system is heating with 15KW heat. I suggested to have a outdoor temperature sensor installed to move the heatpump mode over to emergency heat when the outdoor temperature drops below 30 deg. The homeowner wants to set the thermostat to emergency heat manually. Overall this system is running properly at this time.
