Duct cleaning inspection. Home has a new system installed by another company in June 2020. Customer has had an issue of excessive dust since system was installed. Customer mentioned some ductwork on south side of home was increased and wyes were replaced with straight runs. Inspected ductwork plenum and equipment in attic. Supply plenum is composed of duct board and has a severe lean to the west, due to weight and pull of attached ductwork. This pull has opened the metal tape / mastic seal along the front edge opening to attic air. More than likely after inspecting master bathroom supply, the excessive dust is likely coming from the gap in the plenum. Recommend replacing duct board plenum with a sheet metal plenum and reattaching ductwork. Also recommend having air ducts cleaned. Left an estimate for both jobs and customer is going to go back with original company to see if plenum work can be warranties.
