I arrived for a recall no heat. I first spoke with the homeowner and found that the system will run but not heat. I inspected the system and found the fault code on the furnace was E2 or E9. This is low stage and high stage pressure switch failure codes. The system ran in low heat with no problems. The system tried to cycle into high heat but it dropped back down to low heat and threw a code of E9. I also found the capacitor on the induced draft motor to be reading at its low limit readings. I also found the motor running right at or over its amp limit depending on what stage the system was running in. I removed the induced draft motor and removed a dead snake from the wheel on the motor. This is what’s causing the pressure switch to fault in and out. I made all issues aware to the homeowner and we decided to replace the pressure switch at this time and not replaced the induced draft motor.
