I arrived for a no cool call on a rent home. I spoke with the tenants and found that the system ran in the morning but the outdoor unit will not run. I inspected the indoor system and found the evaporator coil to be clean and in good condition. It looks like the filters are being changed regularly. I inspected the conditioner and found the systems to be overheated and cover with cotton wood. I cleaned the conditioner and cooled the conditioner fan motor and compressor down. I also found the capacitor to be extremely weak. With the system running with a stopping up condenser coil this can cause the system to run hot and make components fail prematurely. I tried to contact the homeowners by phone call and text per the shops instructions and I did not get ahold of the homeowner. I replaced the capacitor to get the tenant cool at this time.
