I arrived for a previous customer no cool call. I spoke with the homeowner and found that the system outside will not run. I inspected the system and found the capacitor to have failed. I made this aware to the homeowner and we decided to replace it. Once the system was running I checked the systems refrigerant charge and amps and found the system to be running low on refrigerant. I made this aware to the homeowner and suggested to preform a leak search and explained the no warranty policy on the refrigerant without a leak search with repair. We decided to just add what refrigerant was needed to get the system to run properly. I lowered the superheat from 42 deg down to 14 deg. I gained a 22 deg temperature drop across the evaporator coil. This system is running to its best abilities at this time.
