Duct cleaning inspection for home built approximately 15 years ago, spoke with homeowner and they were having some allergy issues and wanted to have ducts cleaned. Went in attic and inspected ductwork, there’s blown in cellulose insulation and ductwork is a composition of older and newer flexible duct. Testing the outer liner on the older duct seems to be intact. Went inside and inspected the inner liner of the older ductwork from inside and it is fairly brittle. There’s a good chance that a duct cleaning would tear the older ductwork up. Went over options with customer and they decided to not have duct cleaning done at this time. Will be in touch if any heat and air work is needed in the future.
